Alien in Space was one of six die-cut board books, which was immensely popular. This book was full of quirky illustrations, with each scene getting bigger and bigger as the book opened and more spreads were revealed. It also had fun rhyming text for easy reading.

For example, the idea for the Ballerina Belle story became a series of four superb, beautifully illustrated die-cut board books. Fleshed out from the germ of an idea, this specialised publisher and packager worked up four simple, engaging stories, illustrated them with rich, detailed artwork, embellished the titles with foil, glitter, embossing and ended up with a winning series popular with small children everywhere. From receiving the smallest of small briefs – “We need some board books” – The Complete Works came up with a range of Jam Panda titles that have been sold successfully in America, Europe, Africa, Australia and the UK.
We carefully worked out a back story for the jam-making pandas, so that they could be used as fully-fledged characters in multiple formats and in various areas of multi-media. With entirely original personalities – Benny Blackberry, Shelley Strawberry, Rachel Raspberry, Andy Apricot and more – we ensured this range appealed to both boys and girls.
For one range, we created four die-cut board books with a ribbon embedded into the backboard so that the books can be tied shut, making the books look and feel extra special.
Highly successful, the Jam Pandas ended up turning into a massive range, including early learning, padded story, large die-cut, touch ‘n’ feel and flap books.
